Digital Radiography

At Fulton Veterinary Clinic, we want to get to the root of your pet’s problem as quickly as possible. Our digital radiography unit gives us an accurate picture of what is going on inside of our patient.

We offer OFA certification radiographs and puppy count radiographs (must be within 2 weeks of delivery date). Digital radiographs are also used to identify broken bones, vertebral disc disease, staging heart disease, identifying tumors, identifying foreign bodies, identifying joint disease in large animals, getting a better picture of arthritis progression, and many other conditions. In order to acquire certain orthopedic images, patients may require sedation.

Digital radiography is painless, safe, and non-invasive. It provides clear images of the area of concern quickly and without having numerous retakes which means accurate and efficient patient assessments. It also uses very low doses of radiation making it safe enough for pregnant females and young pets.

Digital radiography differs from traditional x-rays in that images can be visually enhanced, magnified, and digitally shared with specialists, if needed, to help us speed and focus treatment plans for your pets.
